Browse movie guides ↗What does parental guidance tell you?
A plot summary tells you what a movie is about. A content guide helps you check what you might encounter: sexual content, nudity, graphic violence, gore, frightening scenes, strong language, alcohol and drugs, and sensitive themes. Check the categories that matter to you before pressing play.
Can I watch this movie with my parents?
Look for “Watch with your parents?” on a film guide. The community verdict and vote distribution show how viewers felt about family awkwardness. Families have different boundaries, so use those opinions alongside the individual content warnings.
Is the movie suitable for children?
Family awkwardness is not an age recommendation. A film can have little awkward content and still contain frightening or violent scenes. Check the content categories, any available certification and your child’s sensitivities before deciding.
Guidance for Indian movie nights
Search Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi and other Indian films by title. Open a movie to see the available viewer reports. Coverage grows as people contribute films they have watched.
What if a warning is Unknown?
Unknown can mean that category has not been assessed or its reports are spoiler-protected. It does not confirm that the content is absent. Reports can disagree, and different versions of a film may contain different material. No guide guarantees suitability.
For a step-by-step approach, read how to check movie content warnings without spoilers. To choose between different sources, our IMDb Parents Guide alternatives comparison covers the questions each service can help answer. It is written by the Triggerboxd team and includes our own platform.
